My little independent lady is dealing with what my paranoid first-time-mama mind considers severe congestion. I've been sticking the blue bulb into her nose regularly to get out as many boogies as possible, but over the last 24 hours, I noticed she dropped a few of her feeds from 3oz to 1oz. Since she's too young for any real medication, here's what we're doing as per doc's recommendations.
- Tilt mattress to approx 30degrees by placing a never-been-read sales manual under it
- Purchase and use a battery powered nasal aspirator
- Use saline drops and aspirator before feedings
- Use humidifier with just water.
